5 simple breastfeeding positions
Get prepared:- grab a drink
- and a snack
- support your back
- uncross your legs
#1: The cradle
Turn baby's chest towards your chest.
Cradle baby's head in the crook of your arm.
Bring your baby up to your breast.
Keep your baby's bottom under your arm.
#2: The cross-cradle
Cradle works with either arm.
Support baby's neck and shoulders.
Your baby's head is free to move.
#3: The underarm hold
Hold your baby at your side.
Support baby's neck and shoulders.
If you like, support yourself with cushions.
Great for twins, or after a caesarean.
#4: Lying down
Curl towards your baby.
Rest your breast on the bed.
Turn baby's chest towards your chest.
Help baby to find your breast.
Snuggle in.
#5: Laid back
Support your back.
Lay back.
Rest your baby on your chest.
Let your baby find her way.
This is baby-led attachment.
